About Endling

Endling is a first person survival horror game being developed on the ROBLOX engine that's heavily inspired by Frictional Games's Penumbra, Amnesia, and SOMA titles. Starting construction in September of 2016, Endling has seen major growth and milestones -- with what started as a small project, over a two years time, has become one of the most anticipated games to be created on the ROBLOX platform.

Endling will be free to play for everyone! This includes any plans for DLC and extras that might be released after the game's launch (As part of our agreement with Frictional Games). Donations are always welcome and significantly help us with the completion of this game.

So why are we creating this game on ROBLOX and not on the HPL2 or HPL3 engine? There are a few answers. For one, there are not many good singleplayer games on ROBLOX. We want to introduce something a bit more unique to the platform. The ROBLOX engine is also more user-friendly and easier to use than the HPL engines. Finally, ROBLOX has a much bigger community of game developers and players than all of Frictional's titles combined. ROBLOX needs to have Endling on its platform. It needs something new.

Due to a cut of budget, there will only be a few puzzles to be solved in the game unlike we originally planned. However, the puzzles in the game are going to be realistic to real-life, meaning how things work in the game will be how they also work in the real world. Challenging the player's intellect is important, and we're hoping to teach the players of this game how basic machinery can work, and so on.

Endling will also put focus into horror. Most horror games on Roblox are cliche and only feature generic horror aspects. Endling will feature these things too, however, it will feature even more. In this game, we're putting focus on common phobias, so that the game will be scary to more than just one group of people. Some examples include: Nyctophobia, Arachnophobia, Claustrophobia, Xenophobia, Autophobia, Acrophobia, Aquaphobia, etc. Since Endling is being made to be immersive as possible, the fears in the game will be more effective in scaring the player.

Not many Roblox games can be immersive, so how will Endling be immersive? First and foremost, Endling is being made specifically to not look like a Roblox game at all. Using 3D models and textures, Endling is made to be realistic-looking, with detailed environments. All the soundtracks and audio made for the game will also be realistic to their environments. A good storyline also brings immersion into a game, so Endling is going to be a heavily story-based game. Taking inspiration from SOMA, Endling will have a philosophical storyline.

As of December 21st, 2019, Endling is still undergoing construction and will be available in the future. Stay tuned!
